This weekend, City of Heroes will reach its second anniversary in Europe! Two years of fighting crime and saving Paragon City from mad scientists, alien invaders, giant monsters and the evil schemes of Lord Recluse and Arachnos deserves some celebration, so all our players are cordially invited to come along to Pocket D on the European Training Room this coming Tuesday (6 February) to mark the occasion.

To kick things off, we’ll be holding a special Anniversary Annihilation Tournament (see below for details), followed by a party where you can kick back and relax with your friends, chat with Amboss, Midoh, Bridger and any special guests that might appear, and maybe pick up a unique temporary title…

Anniversary Annihilation

A special Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament to celebrate the second birthday of City of Heroes in Europe, the Anniversary Annihilation will pit 64 lucky heroes and villains against each other in a battle of wits, nerve and luck. The victor will earn the right to face our special guest Grand Master - War Witch!

How to Enter
There will be 64 places available for the Anniversary Annihilation tournament. To give everyone an equal chance of being able to take part, entrants will be picked at random from all those who signup in the Anniversary Annihilation Registration thread on the official message boards before the end of this weekend. The lucky 64 players will be announced on Monday.

Overview
The Anniversary Annihilation will follow the same general structure of previous RPS Open events, with a couple of changes:

• Amboss, Midoh and Bridger will all act as judges.
• The judges will use the Request channel to make important announcements and call each match. Please make sure you have this channel visible in at least one chat window, and please avoid using the channel until the Anniversary Annihilation is complete, to make it easier for everyone to keep track of what’s going on.
• Please only send a /tell to a judge if the matter is important and relates directly to the Anniversary Annihilation. There’ll be time to chat later on in the evening.

In all other respects, the Anniversary Annihilation will follow the standard RPS Open Rules.

Prizes
As well as fame, fortune, bragging rights and the chance to face our special guest Grand Master, War Witch, the winner of the Anniversary Annihilation will also take home:

• A special in-game title for their character (on their ‘home’ server).
• A copy of The Freedom Phalanx novel by Robin D Laws.
• An exclusive, limited edition Lord Recluse statuette.
• 60 days of free game time.

In addition, for every game the victor wins against War Witch, they’ll earn themselves another 60 days of game time! That means that, if the tournament winner manages to defeat War Witch, they’ll end up with a whole year of City of Heroes and Villains for free!
