Comic Expo Update!
10 Nov, 2005
Roll up, roll up - we have many more details for you about NCsoft’s presence at Comic Expo - November 19th and 20th!
NCsoft’s two major events for November are drawing ever closer, and while i26 is on this weekend, here at CoH Central we’re looking forward expectantly to Comic Expo, happening on November 19th and 20th in Brighton at the Hilton Metropole Hotel.
We thought it was high time that we gave you an update on what’s going on there, so here we go....
Get your Hero or Villain sketched by eight different artists
A grand total of eight comic artists are confirmed to appear on NCsoft’s stand over Saturday and Sunday. Between them, they’ve drawn all kinds of comics for all kinds of publishers - everything from Transformers to Judge Dredd, and everything in-between.
Any of these artists will be happy to complete a sketch of your Hero or Villain for a small donation to their charity project, Draw the World Together, and if you’re anything like us you’ll be returning multiple times! There will be a PC nearby to allow you to login to CoH or CoV to bring up your character on-screen, although feel free to bring your own visual reference, too.
At the moment, the artists are scheduled to appear on the following days (although not necessarily in the order listed here). This schedule is subject to change, so check the stand at the Expo for up-to-the-minute reference:
Saturday: Andrew Wildman, Kev Crossley, Mark Buckingham, Jock, Charlie Adlard
Sunday: Andrew Wildman, Liam Sharp, Kev Hopgood, Doug Braithwaite
Pick up ‘A Day in the Double Life’ only at the Expo!
Our gaming comic competition has ended, and our three prize winners will be seeing their work immortalised in print at Comic Expo. All three winners created a four page City of Heroes story using only the in-game engine, and a few choice sound effects.
This free, 16-page mini-comic (cover seen left) will only be available to attendees of Comic Expo. Drop by the NCsoft stand all weekend to pick up a copy, but don’t forget - once they’re gone, they’re gone. As a special bonus, the Grand Prize Winner and creator of the first story in the anthology, Rob Fay, will be at the Expo as part of his prize - hey, he might even be persuaded to sign a few copies!
Don’t forget, the winning stories in the comic and our runners-up will all be presented on this site after Comic Expo, so if you can’t make it, stay tuned to see the results.
Plus, NCsoft goodies galore for all Expo attendees!
We’ll have (deep breath)... posters, mouse mats, bumper stickers, limited edition trading cards, City of Heroes 14-day free trial disks and much more to give away during the weekend - both to people visiting our stand, and to prize winners.
Stop by our LAN area to try your hand at one of our games, and you might end up walking away with the game you just played. What more reason do you need to take a trip to Brighton?
