City of Heroes at Comic Expo

21 Feb, 2005

Comic Expo logoNCsoft Europe and Cryptic Studios are proud to announce the first ever European convention appearance for City of Heroes! Here are the essential dates and details for your diary:

  • What: Comic Expo, presented by Area 51 & Comics International - official site
  • When: Saturday May 14th - Sunday May 15th
  • Where: The British Empire & Commonwealth Exhibition Hall and the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Bristol
  • What’ll it cost: Just £5 for either Saturday or Sunday, or £10 for the whole weekend - under 12s free when accompanied by an adult

Currently confirmed guests for the convention include J. Michael Straczynski, creator of TV’s Babylon 5, Crusade and Jeremiah; Michael Avon Oeming, artist on Powers; Gary Frank, artist on Midnight Nation; Dave Gibbons, creator of The Originals, plus many, many other guests you’ll find listed on the Comic Expo site.

As well as the guests, a top-notch array of publishers are going to be present, from British perennials 2000AD to collectible card maestros Upper Deck Entertainment, and manga maniacs Tokyopop. Throw in a whole load of retailers and you’ve got a full weekend of entertainment!

What will City of Heroes be doing there? Well, apart from demonstrating the world’s best super-powered MMORPG, we’ll also be giving away great prizes and hanging out to talk to interested folk like yourself.

So as well as a fantastic con weekend packed with guests, exhibitors and talks, you’ll also get the chance to meet other CoH players in the flesh, and come hassle Rockjaw and Bridger about… well, whatever you fancy. We’ll be there for the entire weekend, and yes, that includes after hours in the bar.

We’ll be announcing more details on our presence at Comic Expo nearer the time, but for now if you’re interested in getting tickets they will be on sale from March 1st. Keep your eyes peeled for more details at the official site - www.comicexpo.net - and we’ll see you there!

I’ve gone to the past 2 years of Bristol Comic Con (new organiser this year, correct?) and enjoyed the heck out of both. I’ll be with the big pack of Sonic the Hedgehog fans, we usually occupy a huge amount of floor space in the sales floor, should be hard to miss us. Look for the ginger git wearing a Rush t-shirt /images/smileys/smile.gif

I will be there as only live 30 miles away from Bristol, and the line up of guests is outta this world.
