Comics update

imageWith the new Top Cow comic book based on City of Heroes approaching, we know that many of you here in Europe have been wondering whether you’ll get to see it - and what’s happened to the current Blue King Studios run. So we’re pleased to be able to announce that all our players will soon be able to access both series in electronic form.

At present, we have nearly finished the translation of Issues #1-6 of the Blue King Studios title and the formatting, layout and lettering are nearly complete. These issues should be available for download in May as PDF files. Work has already begun on Issues #7-12, and as soon as they’re ready, they’ll also be downloadable as PDFs.

imageThe final details of how we’ll be offering the new Top Cow comic are still being worked out, but we can confirm that it will be made available to European players in an electronic format, and as soon as we have more news, we’ll announce it here.

Finally, we’d like to thank all our players for your patience while we’ve been working on bringing you the comics. The process has proved to be much more complex than we originally expected, and taken much longer than we’d hoped, and we appreciate your understanding.

I’m just glad we’re getting it in any form - we were never promised a comic in the first place, or at least my box never said anything about it.

If the Top Cow thing is as good as it looks like, I’ll just add it to my order at my local comics shop anyway…

yea they should offer electronic as well as printed versions, electronic would have to be cheaper and maybe somehow payable through your CoH account… They even sell Spawn translated into Dutch, and I don’t even know any1 (xcept me) who reads them! and still, I prefer the original language over a translation…

The best thing about .pdf is when you print it the thing looks like it does on your screen and if like me you own a pocket pc you can take it with you!

Hi there!

Is there any chance that the electronic format could be avalaible even to us europeans playing on the USA servers?

It’s already not nice that I’m “forced” to buy the paper version in a comic shop while others that pay the same fee that I pay receive it at home(translation: I pay more for the same thing), at least could you let me know if there is some plan for us as well? I know I should ask them directly and I’ll do it, but since you touched this button…

Not good enough?  Better than nothing!!

The comics have been available for import for some time now at reasonable cost.  If you really wanted them, you could have got them ages ago.

simonep: I’m fairly certain that CuppaJo recently confirmed on the US boards that the Top Cow comic would be available in an electronic format to US subscribers. Not sure about the Blue King Studios series - you should ask on the US boards.

Electronic is good enough for me - if you want the printed copy then you can order this from a comic book store.

Or you could print them using a colour printer /images/smileys/smile.gif

Perhaps NC can tell us where we can buy them?

Its also being written by Mark Waid the writer who brought me back into comics with his excellent run on the Flash comics.

So it should be worth reading unlike the majority of spinoff comics.

Meh...I ordered this from my local comic book store anyway...but it’s nice that they’re making the effort to let us read the older ones...cheers guys!

As for where to buy it...any good comic store should be able to get it...if they can’t then they’re not a very good comic book store…

Hey! At least we’re getting them now - which when we all subbed (at least those of us that did in the launch month) wasn’t something that was on the cards, and we were all crying about it.

Be happy that we get them at all. So what if it’s in pdf format? If you want the print versions import them or buy them at your local comic shop or Forbidden Planet etc.

I get the Blue King comics through my comic store anyway, and knowing them they’ll add the Top Cow one to my order (I swear to God my comic dealer is frickin’ telepathic - he’s never yet offered me a comic preview I didn’t end up buying)
