City of Heroes at Brighton Comic Expo
07 Oct, 2005
Continuing our commitment to the comics community, NCsoft Europe is very proud to announce our attendance at the Brighton Comic Expo, this November 19th and 20th, at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton, England.
For more details, let’s have a word from, erm, me:
Here’s some of the Expo highlights, to whet your appetite further:
Get your game on with the NCsoft Expo LAN
If you’ve ever wanted to play City of Heroes (or, by then, City of Villains) alongside your fellow heroes in the flesh, this is your chance. Our eight-man LAN will be available day and night for you to play your favourite MMORPGs. You’ll also be able to play Guild Wars and take a sneak peek at the post-apocalyptic world of Auto Assault.
See your hero recreated by celebrity artists at the NCsoft stand
If you’ve ever wanted your City of Heroes character to be immortalised by a professional comics artist, here’s your chance - and you get to help a good cause at the same time!
Comics pros Liam Sharp (Spawn: The Dark Ages, Event Horizon), Jock (The Losers), Charles Adlard (Astronauts in Trouble, The Walking Dead), Kevin Hopgood (Iron Man, 2000AD), Doug Braithwaite (The Punisher, Justice) and Andrew Wildman (Transformers, Spider-Man 2099) will be sketching on the NCsoft stand during the weekend, and working straight from screen to recreate your hero (or villain!) on paper. For a small donation to Andrew Wildman’s charity project Draw the World Together, these artists will create something one-of-a-kind which you can hang on your wall.
Party with your fellow players!
Saturday night will see NCsoft hosting a party, and you’re invited! Come mix and mingle with your fellow players In Real Life. Plus, this is your chance to chat to NCsoft Community staff including the ever-ebullient Bridger, the always-irascible Rockjaw, plus France’s favourite son Atreid and Germany’s heroic Amboss.
Pick up a unique comic - which you might feature in!
Finally, Brighton Comic Expo will see the unveiling of our unique ‘gaming comic’ created by City of Heroes players! This one-off publication will be available to everyone attending Comic Expo, and you’ll have a chance to create a story within it - click here for details of this fantastic competition!
Plus of course, the Expo itself!
Jim Steranko, Mark Millar, Brian Bolland, Dave Gibbons, Simon Bisley, Glenn Fabry… the guest list just goes on. Rest assured, a huge range of comic book artists, writers and special guests are attending the Expo, with panels, parties, retailers and other exhibitors there in force. Read all about it on the official Comic Expo site!
Want to come? Book your tickets now!
Until November 7th, tickets for Comic Expo are on sale at just 8 per day (Saturday/Sunday) or 15 for the weekend. After November 7th and during the weekend of the Expo, tickets will be available at 10 per day or 20 for the weekend.
