Creating Your Costume
What’s a good superhero without liberal applications of spandex? Choose from thousands of possible costumes to outfit your hero.
It doesn’t just stop at size and shape. Here comes the fun part – creating your hero’s costume. Many different aspects of your hero’s costume can be changed and tweaked in order to create the perfect look. Fancy a mask? How about a robotic arm or a tail? Shoulder pads or no shoulder pads? It’s wise to spend some time creating your ideal costume, and making sure everything is the way you want it – after all, good first impressions are vital.
If you change your mind later, your costume can be altered by a professional tailor at any ICON store (located in Steel Canyon and Independence Port), but of course, high quality tailoring is not cheap. As your hero attains further Security Levels you can also earn additional costumes for your hero to wear. However, your initial costume will be yours for quite a few Security Levels, so choose wisely!
By default, your hero is clothed in a tight-fitting, plain, single colour outfit. The overall colour is randomly chosen and copied across the whole body, meaning that every part of the outfit is initially the same colour. To change this, un-check ‘Copy Current Colors Across Entire Body’ below the colour selector. You can also change your hero’s skin colour, choosing between ‘normal’ flesh tones and some more ‘exotic’ colours.
The left column of controls lets you alter your hero’s head, upper and lower body. Under ‘Head’, you can give your hero a mask, hat or helmet, change the head shape, choose a new face, add or remove hair, and add details such as glasses, horns and facial hair. ‘Upper Body’ allows you to add clothing or even robotic arms to your hero, customise their clothing with patterns and symbols, and add shoulder decoration, gloves and a belt. ‘Lower Body’ gives you further clothing options and lets you choose your hero’s footwear.
Take your time and go wild – there are truly millions of different costume combinations, meaning you can create a look that’s truly unique to you. Experiment with styles and colours until you have your hero’s dream look! If you get really stuck and just can’t decide, try the Random button for some inspiration – just bear in mind, you can’t save a Random creation for later.
