The ‘burbs which circle the park were once desirable apartments and popular office locations for the hip and hi-tech firms from across Paragon City. Since the Rikti invasion they have become hugely hazardous, with the Skulls and the Hellions, two of Paragon’s most influential gang sects, using the streets as a place to meet, to fight and to settle their many disputes. There is always blood on the asphalt of Perez, but there shouldn’t be. It’s down to our heroes to break up these disputes, and force the gangs to end their ceaseless hostilities.

Once inside the park itself things change a little. Perez has lost none of its beauty, but it’s no longer a safe place to lay out your picnic. Visitors to the park with an interest in the occult will no doubt find themselves lured into the woods, where the Circle of Thorns, a dangerous cabal that has tendrils throughout the city, makes sacrifices of many of the people it snatches from the city streets. Yes, there are grisly discoveries to be made in the paths of Perez, and their cause is seldom a natural one.

Visitors interested in the extremes of science will no doubt want to take a look what is happening in Everett Lake. Once one of the most perfect natural beauty spots in the city, it is now heavily polluted by the amoeba-like Hydra, mucilaginous creatures of slime that defy the normal paradigms of science. Defeating these beasts is not for the lone hero, but attracts many powerful visitors to the area, so you’re seldom without backup against the weird beasts. Please, do what you can to bring respite to this tormented beauty spot, even if it is too far gone for the families, fishermen and lovers to ever return here on those sunny afternoons.

So much has been lost to the supernatural folly of Perez, even our prized culture of open-air theatre. In previous decades you might have been able to catch some outdoor Shakespeare at the Gaiman Amphitheatre, just down by the lake. Now though the drama is confined to gladiatorial law bringing, as our heroes duel the forces of chaos against the backdrop of idyllic Perez.

The Park is a hazard zone. It is not given such a title lightly. If your contacts decide to send you there then you might well consider yourself capable, but that might not be the case. Do not venture into the unknown alone. If you must brave the horrors that lie within, you can access Perez Park from the fortified gateways in Skyway City, Atlas Park, Steel Canyon, and Galaxy City. But take someone with you. And be careful: this is no stroll in the park.
