New to City of Heroes and City of Villains

Hello and welcome! In order to play your City of Heroes and City of Villains 10-day Buddy game account, you will need to download the City of Heroes game and create a PlayNC Master Account. If you have an existing PlayNC Master Account skip down to the instructions for adding your City of Heroes and City of Villains 10-day Buddy account only.

To create a free PlayNC Master Account and add a City of Heroes and City of Villains 10-Day Buddy Account:

1. Go to PlayNC.com
2. Click on Account, then on Create
3. Follow all the directions provided until your PlayNC Master Account is successfully created
4. Upon completion, head to the account management page and click the Add Games link
5. Enter the Buddy serial code that was provided to you and click the CONTINUE button
6. Provide all requested information until you have successfully created a City of Heroes Buddy game account!
7. Click on the button below to download the City of Heroes game client

To add a City of Heroes and City of Villains 10-Day Buddy Game Account only:

1. Go to PlayNC.com
2. Enter information to verify your current PlayNC Master Account username and password
3. Click on the Add Game link
4. Enter the Buddy serial code that was provided to you and click the CONTINUE button
5. Provide all requested information until you have successfully created a City of Heroes Buddy game account!
6. Click on the button below to download the City of Heroes game client

Download the game

To Download and Install

1. Click the button above to download the City of Heroes Updater file.
2. You will be prompted to Run or Save the file. We recommend saving the file to your desktop, so that you can use it as a desktop shortcut to launch the game from now on.
3. Click Save. Choose My Desktop as the save location.
4. Once saved, double-click on the CohUpdater.exe icon on your desktop to launch the Updater.
5. Follow the prompts and begin the installation process (If prompted, select Run). The Updater will download and install everything you need in order to play City of Heroes and City of Villains.
6. Click Next -> after the Updater has finished downloading.
7. Click I Agree in order to play.
